Danish initiative to stop climate change
Cop15 host-country Denmark suggests that the world should agree to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 from 1990 levels as part of a U.N. climate pact in Copenhagen in mid-December, writes Reuters.
The suggestion is well in line with Vattenfall’s long-term target: a 50 percent reduction by 2030, and the vision to climate neutral by 2050, and by 2030 in the Nordic countries.
It is clear though, that for the Copenhagen conference, a big challenge will be finding a solution that satisfies both the developed and the developing countries.
